Topology: The arrangement of various elements (nodes, links, etc.) in a network. The physical layout (physical topology) or logical connections (logical topology) form the backbone of the network’s design. Different types of topologies, such as star, ring, mesh, bus, or tree, can impact the network’s performance, reliability, and resilience to disruptions, including security incidents.
