Reverse engineering: The process of analyzing and deconstructing a product or system to understand its design and functionality. It is often used in the software industry to understand how a program or application works and to identify vulnerabilities or potential improvements. Examples include analyzing a competitor’s product to understand its features and capabilities or studying a computer virus to create a solution to remove it.
