3DES: 3DES, or Triple Data Encryption Standard, is a symmetric key encryption algorithm that encrypts data three times using two or three keys. It is considered a more secure alternative to the original Data Encryption Standard (DES) algorithm, as it increases the difficulty of breaking the encryption by using multiple keys. It should be noted that while 3DES was a more secure alternative to DES, it is now considered deprecated in favor of more secure algorithms like AES.
