Intruder: An individual or entity that gains or attempts to gain unauthorized access to a system, network, or data. Intruders can originate from both outside and within an organization and may have various motives, including theft of information, disruption of services, or exploitation of resources for illicit activities. Identifying and responding to potential intruders is a critical part of maintaining security.
