Multitasking: The ability of an operating system to execute multiple tasks concurrently. It involves managing system resources among different applications or processes to enhance productivity and efficiency. While users may perceive their tasks as running in parallel, the operating system rapidly switches between tasks to give the appearance of simultaneous execution while ensuring each task receives the required resources.
