Relational database model: A data model that represents data as a set of formally described tables from which data can be accessed or reassembled in various ways without needing to reorganize the tables themselves. This model was conceived by E.F. Codd, and it forms the theoretical basis of relational databases. It uses a standard method to store and retrieve data and is widely used due to its simplicity, flexibility, and efficiency.
