Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria (TCSEC) (aka Orange Book): A United States Government Department of Defense standard that sets basic requirements for assessing the effectiveness of security controls built into a computer system. It provides a metric to evaluate and measure the security properties of a computer system.
