Attracting and Retaining Millennial Workers Vital to Closing the Gap

Clearwater FL, February 13, 2017 — According to new research from the Center for Cyber Safety and Education™ (the Center) — part of its eighth Global Information Security Workforce Study (GISWS) – sponsored by (ISC)²® and Booz Allen Hamilton, a serious talent shortage looms in the information security workforce. The survey and analysis, which includes feedback from over 19,000 information security professionals worldwide, indicates that employers must look to millennials to fill the projected 1.8 million information security workforce gap that is estimated to exist by 2022.  This is an increase of 20 percent from the 1.5 million worker shortfall forecast by the 2015 GISWS.

I am ready to work and no one is hiring. So I think ISC2 are not real.

Any clue on why? Are the jobs there or do you not get to the interview?

    2. Olga Jilani

The jobs require many years of experience, or If I find something I can do, I apply but never hear back.

Olga ok what are your credentials? What certs do you have do you have a 4 year degree? Do you have exp? Have you considered getting exp doing volunteer work or internship work? Have you attended job fairs and spoke to hiring people to see what they want or get advice? Are you part of any local ISSA/ISC2 chapters and attend meetings?

Unless it says required and you are way off, I would move past it.
They want someone 20 years old, with a degree, 5+ certificates and 30 years experience.
I have applied for multiple jobs where I was had some of the requirements, but far from all. Some led to interviews, others to offers.
