Trusted computer system: A system that is relied upon to enforce a specific security policy. It has been designed and configured to provide a certain level of assurance for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the information it processes

Trusted Computing Base (TCB): The collection of all hardware, firmware, and software components within a system that are critical to its security. The TCB provides a foundation of trust for a system by ensuring that enforced security policies are adhered to and that the system operates in a predictable and secure manner.

Trusted List (Trust Store): A repository within a computer system or application that stores trusted certificates from certificate authorities (CAs). Trust stores help verify the authenticity of digital certificates and establish secure connections through SSL/TLS protocols.

Trusted path: A secure route or channel between a user and the system, ensuring that the user is directly communicating with the legitimate system and not an imposter. This route is protected against interception, modification, or mimicry by unauthorized or malicious entities.

Trusted Platform Module (TPM): TPM is a secure crypto-processor that is designed to carry out cryptographic operations. The chip includes multiple physical security mechanisms to make it tamper-resistant, and it can be used to secure hardware through integrated cryptographic keys.

Trusted process: A procedure that has been vetted and authorized to access resources and information beyond the restrictions imposed on most processes. It has the necessary permissions to perform sensitive operations, making it crucial that its integrity and security are maintained.
