International Standard on Assurance Engagements (ISAE): A set of global standards developed by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) that provides guidelines for conducting assurance engagements. ISAE standards, such as ISAE 3000 and ISAE 3402, are used to evaluate and report on financial and non-financial information, ensuring the reliability of systems, processes, and controls.

International Standards Organization (ISO): An independent, non-governmental international organization that develops and publishes standards to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems across various industries. ISO standards, such as ISO 27001 for information security and ISO 9001 for quality management, are widely adopted to improve operational performance and regulatory compliance.

Internet: A global network of interconnected computers and devices that allows for the exchange of information and data. It is used by millions of people around the world for communication, entertainment, education, and business. Examples of internet usage include browsing websites, sending emails, and streaming video content.

Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA): A department of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) that is responsible for coordinating the assignment of unique Internet protocol (IP) addresses, domain names, and protocol parameters. IANA plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Internet by managing the allocation of these resources. Examples of IANA's role include assigning IP addresses to internet service providers and registering top-level domain names.

Internet banking: Internet banking, also known as online banking, enables customers to perform financial transactions electronically via their bank's secure website. This service provides a convenient way to manage accounts without physically visiting a bank branch. Functions available through Internet banking include fund transfers, bill payments, account management, and loan applications.

Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP): A network protocol used to send error messages and operational information indicating success or failure when communicating with another IP address, typically used by network devices like routers to diagnose network issues and ensure data packets reach their destination.
