- Coaxial Cable
Coaxial Cable: A type of electrical cable consisting of a central conductor surrounded by an insulating layer over which a metallic shield is placed. This construction is then enclosed in an outer insulating layer. Coaxial cables are used to transmit data, video, and voice communications, they are known for their ability to shield signals from external electromagnetic interference, making them suitable for a range of telecommunications and networking applications. They have been widely used for cable television and internet service connections.
- COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies)
COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies): A framework created by ISACA for information governance and management. It is used globally to help businesses achieve strategic goals through effective and innovative use of IT while mitigating risks and managing organizational complexity. COBIT provides a set of generic processes for the management of information systems, each with a high-level control objective, input/output tasks, process controls, and performance measures.
- Code analysis tools
Code analysis tools: Software utilities that scan application code to identify potential security vulnerabilities, programming errors, and adherence to coding standards and best practices. These tools are critical in improving the quality of software by detecting flaws early in the development lifecycle, reducing the risk of vulnerabilities being exploited, and minimizing the cost of remediation.
- Code Escrow
Code Escrow: A legal agreement involving at least three parties - a software licensing organization, the licensing customer, and an escrow agent. In this arrangement, the software's source code is given to an independent third party (the escrow agent) for safekeeping. The escrow agent releases the source code to the licensee in the event that the licensor fails to meet contractual obligations, such as maintenance, support, or bankruptcy, ensuring business continuity and access to critical functionalities.
- Code of Ethics
Code of Ethics: A guiding document that outlines expected behaviors and decision-making approaches within an organization or profession. It serves as a set of principles to guide professionals in carrying out their work with integrity, honesty, and responsibility. Violation of the code of ethics can lead to disciplinary actions, including termination of employment or membership.
- Code protection and logic hiding
Code protection and logic hiding: The various techniques used to obfuscate the internal workings of a program or system. The main purpose is to prevent reverse engineering or unauthorized modification, thereby securing intellectual property and maintaining the integrity of the software. Techniques used can range from simple code obfuscation to more advanced methods like encryption or running code in a secure environment.
