A central location in which data is stored and managed. In terms of software development, it’s often used to manage and store different versions of code files. A repository can be local to a user’s machine, or it can be a storage space on a server or on the cloud. Repositories are crucial in maintaining data integrity, version control, and facilitating collaboration among multiple users or teams.
